Breakfast is a particular strength, with local sausages and bacon served alongside the usual spread, and there's a bar and restaurant on site as well as a snack bar for lighter bites. Staff are consistently helpful and welcoming, and practical extras such as free WiFi, luggage storage and a laundry service make longer stays easier. Pets are welcome, and there's a dog park directly opposite the property.
York itself lies a short distance away, with the York Castle Museum among the local points of interest, and further pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for evenings out. Free on-site parking is provided, a genuine convenience for anyone exploring North Yorkshire by car.

We stayed for 2 nights. It is an old victorian house in excellent decorative order. wooden stair case, high ceilings etc. the rooms are comfortable and very clean and tidy. There was no A/C , but there was a fan in the room. They provide, an excellent breakfast, full English and cooked to order, as well as a basic continental style buffet. Staff are polite and friendly and give a good service. There is parking at the rear, and the location is fairly quiet and just out of the main town. It is a bit of a walk to the centre of York, but can be done in 15 mins, ( probably 1.5 miles or so) or just take a taxi. This guest house is better than a lot of main stream hotels I have used. I really would recommend it. I would use this accommodation again if I return to York.

This is THE best B&B I have ever stayed at. You receive the warmest of the welcomes in a very homely, beautiful house. The rooms are immaculate and well equipped. Had an excellent nights sleep after venturing in to York for dinner which is 5 minutes away. Breakfast is excellent. I will return! ☺️

Just back from a lovely 2 night stay (2 adults and Leo the spaniel 🐾) June & her staff are fantastic & very welcoming, the hotel is beautiful with traditional decor & furniture. We were in room 22 at the top of house.. lovely big room, bathroom & views over the park opposite and to York Minster in the distance. Breakfast was amazing .. everything you can ask for to fuel you for a day exploring. York Center is a steady 10 mins walk or there’s bus connections if you prefer. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful hotel full of charm and character. Immaculately clean and the breakfast was superb, with local sausages and bacon. Attention to detail and service first rate, small carpark at the rear. Buses run into York City Centre frequently.
