Lovely guest house! They let us park here early before check in which was so kind. The room was spacious and they brought us a fan as it was an incredibly hot day. The shower was hot , room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Lovely and hospitable stay !

We had wonderful 2 days at the guest house. This is an excellent location for exploring York. only 15min walk to the center. Both Greg and Heidi were lovely hosts, with nice tips and excellent breakfast. We stayed in a neatly decorated double room. On premise parking is available and needed, as parking is tricky in the neighborhood.

Lovely little guesthouse, convenient to the centre of town. Caught without a place to stay in York, but the owner was very friendly and accommodating. The room was cozy, the guesthouse having a nice, traditional atmosphere, and will very much consider returning next time I'm visiting the city properly!

My group of three, who booked a twin room and a single room, enjoyed our stay. The single room was on the second floor (3rd for this American) and was a dormer room, so the ceiling was sloped at one part, necessitating a duck while walking around the bed. For the price, you can't beat it! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and the hosts ensured that our parking spot (book ahead!) was ready for us and that I knew where to park during our stay. We were offered a choice of cooked or continental breakfast for a small extra fee, and we each had the continental both days. It included cereal and milk, toast, orange juice, real coffee (a one-cup French press), and yogurt. There is also a kettle with instant coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the room. For the most important parts: It was safe and secure in a decent neighborhood. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was quiet at night. Those are the top of the list for me, and Moorgarth ticked those boxes. I only saw my single room, so I cannot comment on others, but if travelling alone, I would definitely return.
