Royal Deeside Woodland Lodges - Lodge B

Lodge B comes with everything needed for self-catering: a fitted kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave; heating and hot water; bed linen and towels; and wifi throughout. The ground-floor layout means no stairs—the open-plan living space has a woodburner and smart TV, the kitchen includes a breakfast bar, and there are two bedrooms (one double, one with singles) served by a bathroom with shower over the bath. Two cars can park on site, and a bike store is available if you want to explore by pedal.

The lodge sits within the grounds of Loch Kinord Hotel on the edge of Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve, backing onto wetlands and woodland that form part of the Cairngorms National Park. Walking trails through the reserve offer chances to spot birds, red squirrels and other wildlife, and there are hides for quiet observation. The Burn-o-Vat—a glacially carved granite bowl with a narrow passage through its rocks—is nearby. Hotel facilities including a restaurant and bar are on hand if cooking isn't appealing one evening. The area suits those interested in countryside pursuits: fishing, pony trekking, mountain biking and archery are all available locally, and Ballater village with its shops and cafés is close by. One pet is welcome; smoking is not permitted inside.
