Royal Deeside Woodland Lodges - Lodge D

Aberdeenshire

Royal Deeside Woodland Lodges - Lodge D sits on the edge of Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve, a landscape of wetlands, moorland and forest within the Cairngorms National Park. The reserve draws visitors for its wildlife—red squirrels, pine martens and numerous bird species—and the unusual geological feature of Burn-o-Vat, where a stream flows through a granite bowl carved by glaciers. Walking trails and observation hides thread through the reserve, though the setting remains quiet enough for a genuinely restorative break.

The lodge itself is detached and ground-floor throughout, with two bedrooms—one double and one twin—and a bathroom with bath and shower. The open-plan living space includes a dining area and kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher and all the basics for self-catering. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are included. You have private parking for two cars and your own bike store; there is also a shared BBQ area on the grounds. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

The Loch Kinord Hotel is on site, should you fancy dining out or exploring its bar and whisky selection. Ballater village, known for its shops and restaurants, is nearby. The region offers fishing, pony trekking, mountain biking and skiing at nearby resorts. No smoking indoors.
