Royal Deeside Woodland Lodges - Lodge E

Lodge E is a single-storey lodge built into the grounds of Loch Kinord Hotel, where it backs onto Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve. The entire property sits on one level. The open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and seating areas, with a freeview smart TV and breakfast bar. Three bedrooms sleep six: one double, and two twin rooms. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower. Everything you need for self-catering is here, along with wifi, heating, bed linen and towels.

The reserve itself is a network of wetlands, moors and woodland within the Cairngorms National Park. Burn-o-Vat, a stream flowing through a vast granite bowl carved by glaciers, is worth exploring. Bird hides are dotted throughout for wildlife watching—you may see squirrels, pine martens and numerous bird species. The setting suits anyone interested in walking and nature, though the grounds also have a shared barbecue area and parking for two cars. If cooking is not on the agenda, the hotel's restaurant and bar are on site. No smoking. One dog is welcome.
