The Beachside House

A 2009 refurbishment preserved the character of The Beachside House while bringing it up to modern comfort. The original scullery remains off the kitchen—a working space where you can chop your own logs if you wish, or collect a basket ready-supplied. An unexpected detail: a secret staircase leads to an attic games room, tucked away on the second floor.

The ground floor centres on a large open-plan kitchen with gas range and dishwasher, flowing into a dining area with two separate lounges beyond. Five bedrooms sleep ten across the property. Two front bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms with underfloor heating and heated towel rails. Three further bedrooms (including a walk-through accessed from either staircase) share a family bathroom, plus there's a cloakroom on the ground floor. All bedrooms contain zip-and-link beds that convert between twin and double setups. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; a highchair and travel cot are available on request.

The private rear garden has furniture and a barbecue. A pub sits within a mile. The property is non-smoking and rents to your whole group alone—ideal for families or friends gathering in the countryside.
