We had a lovely 4 nights stay at the Hillsdale. The room was comfortable, clean & had the nice touches like hair drier & tea coffee ect. The hosts were amazing. Very welcoming, helpful & informative. It is perfectly placed in the middle of town. It's a short walk from pubs, restaurants & shops, with plenty of public transport to get you to all the amazing sites to see. If you need somewhere to park Steve the host will sort you with a private parking space not to far from the B&B. I would highly recommend the homely & comfortable Hillsdale B&B 👍👍👍

Great Little B & B in Ambleside. Very welcoming and cosy. The room was typical of all guest houses in Ambleside, "small, but perfectly formed". Nothing to complain about at all, everything you could need in your room. And a very good breakfast. The full English looked very good, but I had the Kippers and poached eggs. Nice

Just back from a couple of nights at Hillsdale. Steve & Caz were excellent hosts & couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms & the house is beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices but we went for the full English! Ideal location close to all amenities & the free parking is a huge bonus in Ambleside. Would highly recommend & we’ll definitely be back. Thanks again 😊

Lovely 2 night stay at the Hillsdale. Good coms before our trip regarding points of interest and good quality local restaurants. A very warm welcome on arrival from Steve with all the information needed. There is private parking approx 250m from the guesthouse which is vital in such a busy tourist area. The room was clean, comfortable, well decorated and furnished. Excellent breakfast cooked to order from a varied menu. All in all a very good stay and we would recommend without hesitation
