What visitors say
I love coming to the ODEON. Since buying the annual student membership, I try to see a film every week as a treat to myself. It’s something to look forward to. Sure, the food and drink are expensive but it’s a challenging time for cinemas financially, plus, nothing’s stopping you from bringing your own snacks.

I couldn't be more disappointed with my visit to ODEON. The state of the room when we walked in was completely unacceptable, sticky floors, uncleaned seats. To make matters worse, as soon as the film started, the volume was cranked up to an unbearable, ear-splitting level. After 10 minutes of wincing through the film, we couldn't take it anymore and had to walk out. A completely ruined evening and a total waste of time and money. I won't be returning. Edit: I should add that after looking into this online, I’ve read that the extreme volume might actually be down to the movie "Odyssey" itself rather than the cinema's sound setup.

After watching the previous M.I. the night before on dvd we decided to book the latest offering of M.I. in this cinema for the first time. The cinema itself was well looked after. No overflowing bins in the foyer. Very clean area at screen four. The chairs eventually did get uncomfortable after the film was on for a long time. Lucky enough to get the fresh popcorn that was getting loaded into the container. Overall a good experience.

Let me just start by saying I'm a guy who owns a 3000 inch TV at home with surroundsound, so when it comes to cinemas it takes a lot to impress me. When you walk through the main entrance of Odeon Chelmsford, the warm whiff of sweet popcorn awakens the senses. Screen 7 - As I enter the auditorium the plush carpet melts around my feet, I find my seat which is nicely equipped with two cup holders, one on each side. Personally I like to place a flask of cocoa on one side and a bag of treats on the other (Maltesers or M&M's). My top tip is to visit the nearby Londis where the snacks are less than half the price of the cinema.
