About Best Western Atlantic Hotel

Sixty-two brightly decorated rooms and suites make up the Best Western Atlantic Hotel, a contemporary base on New Street in Chelmsford. Each room comes with an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning, with accessible rooms available and room service on request for those who'd rather not leave the building.

Downstairs there's a casual Italian restaurant and a simple bar, plus breakfast and packed lunches for early starts. Guests can also make use of the gym, spa and sauna, or book the meeting rooms and wedding venue for events. Free on-site parking is provided across the hotel's three floors.

The location puts Chelmsford Cathedral, city centre shops and riverside walks within easy reach, while golf, fishing, horse riding and further pubs and restaurants are all nearby for those wanting to venture further afield.

Utter dump. Just awful. No aircon (despite them saying there is on website). Bar and restaurant closed for renovation. View of a piece of rotten chipboard from room. Cheap mattress on the bed. Bathroom smells of urine. Apparently it will be nice when its renovated. Receptionist was lovely. Hotel should be demolished

Room was nice, although the plinth was missing under the shower. Noisy at night with people coming and going all the time or smoking outside the door and the hotel is designed around this entrance and the carpark so will affect lots of rooms. Big bed but two singles strapped together so end up stuck in the middle and the pillows were hard. Breakfast was OK. Dinner was average but not expensive. There seemed to be mild on the garnish on the side of my plate. Staff seemed friendly enough. I wouldn't go back.

The rooms were nice, but not very clean. The bed was horrible. To matesses put together to make a bigger bed. Really uncomfortable. Shower room was a little small and not cleaned. As I nearly slipped over on. As for the breakfast. Save your money, walk the 5 min round the corner and enjoy a fast food breakfast. The bacon was uncooked, the eggs had grease dripping off them. The milk was left out in the sun. I would not recommend the breakfast at all.
