About Pitch and Hike
Tucked into the Snowdonia landscape near Capel Curig, Pitch and Hike is a pared-back, adults-only spot purpose-built for walkers and climbers. With just a handful of pitches on grass and earth, campfires crackling under the stars, and no dogs to disturb the peace, it's deliberately low-key—think wild camping with a toilet block. The location is the real draw: mountains loom on all sides, trailheads fan out in every direction, and you can arrive car-free via nearby public transport.
Facilities are minimal by design—no hot water, no frills—so this isn't one for comfort seekers. But if you're after a remote, scenery-soaked base where you can fall out of your tent and straight onto the hills, it's hard to beat. Pitches start around £40 a night for up to four people.

Lovely place, Mel is so attentive to her guests she's a lovely lady, it's a lovely place to stay, there is no access by cars so you do need to walk but luckily for me I took my electric bike so it was easier :) it's in a lovely spot with views of the mountains. Plenty of beautiful walks close by

I’m slightly reluctant to leave a review for this site as I would love to return to find it as quiet as it is as when I was there. It was fantastic for me, I walked over from Trefriw and didn’t want to wild camp but wanted a little luxury as in toilets and running water. The toilets were immaculate and clean. It was just perfect, flat pitches with considerate touches like paving slabs to put cooker on. I was the only camper the night I stayed but the pitches are all far enough apart to be nice and private. So as someone else has said a very wild camp vibe to the campsite. The host Mel was so friendly when I arrived and gave me information about local cafes and places to eat. It was fantastic for one night but would also be great for a base for hiking or mountain biking for a few days. Thanks , I’ll be back.

Lovely little woodland campsite with nice flat pitches. Some of the pitches are well suited to hammocks/tarps with trees suitable to tie up a ridgeline. It's quiet, other than some faint traffic noise from the main road nearby. I was the only person there when I went in mid September. The toilets are exceptionally clean. There's drinking water on site in containers.

We stayed in the cabin at this perfect little campsite in april. We actually expected a busy camping site but to our absolute delight it was the most perfect secluded little piece of heaven. The cabin is well equipped, everything you need is there including a camping stove, a container of drinking water and hot water bottles! Although its pretty much off grid its comfortable with toilets on site. Mel, our host was so accommodating. The walks out across the national park are just beautiful and i highly recommend the circular walk around the lake and back. 9 miles in total. Was just what we needed to destress from life for a few days.
