1 Tower Cottage

Tower Cottage comes ready for arrival with essentials covered—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi all included. The kitchen is properly fitted out with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washer dryer, so cooking and laundry are straightforward. A wood burner warms the living room on colder days, and fuel is available locally. One dog is welcome.

The cottage is compact: a ground-floor living space and shower room, with two bedrooms upstairs (one kingsize, one single). Bedroom 1 has a glimpse of Derwentwater from the window. The stairs are original to the building, steep with a turn at the bottom, which may not suit everyone. The property sits in a courtyard setting in Portinscale village, on Derwentwater's northern shore, where a pub, tea room and marina are within easy reach. Walking routes start from the door—around the lake, up to Catbells, or along the footpath toward Keswick. The village has a bus service and on-road parking is available.
