Beckside

Beckside is a traditional stone cottage reached through private grounds where red squirrels are regular visitors. You arrive into a lived-in ground floor: a sitting room with woodburner, a kitchen up two steps with electric cooker and microwave, and a shower room. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one double, one single—sleeping three in total. The whole property is yours alone.

Electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi are included; heating by night storage and convector heaters, plus initial fuel for the woodburner. A garden with sitting-out area and furniture overlooks the beck and the fells beyond. You can walk from the bridge across the water into forestry trails. The location sits on the edge of Coombe Beck with views toward Helvellyn, Causey Pike and Skiddaw; ospreys visit seasonally. Bassenthwaite Lake is within reach for sailing and fishing. A bus stop 400 yards away connects to shops, restaurants and Theatre by the Lake two miles off. There's a pub and shop one and a quarter miles away. Children under 12 are not suitable for this property due to an unfenced stream and ravine in the garden. No smoking inside.
