The Lake District draws people to its fells and water, but finding somewhere distinctive to stay takes more thought. Lake View Shepherds Huts sits on a working farm in the shadow of Skiddaw, surrounded by the Northern Fells—Catbells and Latrigg visible to the front, the mountain itself rising behind. The location puts you within walking distance of pubs and restaurants, yet far enough from Keswick's bustle to feel genuinely remote.
The hut itself is one bedroom, one bathroom, sleeping two. Inside is a combined living and kitchen area with a two-ring hob, fridge and microwave, a small dining space, and a double bed accessed from one side. The shower room is compact but complete. A garden with seating looks out over the fells. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. There is parking for two cars on site, and no smoking inside.
This works best for couples or two people who don't need much space, and who are drawn to the idea of something different from a standard cottage. The hut's picture window frames the view across grassland toward Derwentwater and the surrounding peaks—the kind of prospect that defines a Lake District stay.
