The Chatham

The Chatham is a restored Grade II listed house across three floors in central Lyme Regis, a short walk from the seafront and the Cobb. You enter at ground level where the washing machine and tumble dryer are housed. The main living space occupies the first floor: an open-plan area with a woodburner, Freeview TV and DVD player flows into a dining section that seats eight, then a kitchen fitted with a gas hob, electric range, dishwasher and combined microwave-oven-grill. Three bedrooms with kingsize beds each have their own ensuite shower room; the fourth bedroom has two single beds and shares an ensuite with one of the kingsize rooms. A gated courtyard provides parking for two cars and opens onto a decked terrace with garden furniture—a private outdoor space looking over Chesil Beach and the Heritage Coast towards Portland.

Lyme Regis itself is within arm's reach: fossil hunting, crabbing and swimming are possible from the beach or harbour, and the town centre has restaurants, pubs and independent shops. The wider Jurassic Coast stretches in both directions—Exmouth westward, Weymouth and Portland to the east, and West Bay beyond. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included. The property does not permit smoking. It suits families and groups of up to eight guests, and a travel cot and highchair are available.
