Steelclose Mill - Steelclose Cottage

Steelclose Cottage sits within the grounds of a working mill that dates back to the 1500s. It's a semi-detached property with direct access to its own enclosed garden, where a private hot tub accommodates six people. The surrounding estate—shared with other on-site properties—spans seven acres of grounds and parkland. An unfenced river runs through the site, so this matters if you're travelling with young children or need to know about the landscape.

Inside, there are two bedrooms, each with a kingsize bed, and one bathroom with a bath and shower cubicle. The ground floor holds a living room with a sofa bed, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, and a conservatory. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking: electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine are all here. A separate toilet serves the ground floor. Upstairs is the main bathroom. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are all included; there's also an electric vehicle charging point if you need it. The property sleeps six and is yours alone for the duration of your stay. One dog is welcome at no extra cost. One step leads to the entrance.

This works well for groups wanting space and privacy, or for marking a special occasion away from a city. Durham is the nearest town. Smoking is not permitted inside.
