About Atlas House

Atlas House occupies a townhouse setting on London Street in Edinburgh, one of the New Town's characterful terraces, with just 11 rooms giving it the feel of a small, personally-run guesthouse rather than a large hotel. It's a convenient base for the city, with Edinburgh Waverley station close enough to reach on foot.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks provided, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. There's a garden for guests to sit out in, along with luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures.

The surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, with routes nearby, and golf, fishing and watersports also within reach for those wanting to venture further afield. Edinburgh Zoo is a notable point of interest not far away, while pubs, bars and restaurants nearby make it easy to eat and drink without travelling far from the door.

We had a family room with 2 single beds and a double bed. Spacious room, clean, quiet. Tea, coffee provided and I quite liked their biscuits. Not a 5* hotel but better than a guest house. We had a good stay at this house.

Great place to stay. I was a solo traveller, the welcome and departure was helpful and pleasant. The room was with the basic provisions and well kept, except a little dusting on the skirting boards would have been nice, the shower dribbles and I could hear the nightly activities of the other residents till early hours in the morning. Not the property managers fault. Warm, tidy, cosy and safe. Would be back, there is also a nice breakfast bar located nearby called The Square.

Overall it is a nice place to stay. I stayed here with a few friends, and it was a decent stay. It is just the ideal area to stay in, not too far away from the town (less than 10 mins to princess street), however its on the outskirts of town, a lovely quiet little area, really aesthetically pleasing too. The beds here are super comfortable, we all enjoyed our nights sleep, which was needed after all the walking!! The radiator here is super too, it warms the room up quickly and dried all our clothes off in time to go back out. The owner was a lovely chap, we had a few encounters with him and both times he was a star. BUT…every rose does have its thorns. And this place does have thorns. The bathrooms are small, and the shower pressure is less than ideal as well as the shower head does not stay in place, had to hold it for the duration of my shower 😂 One of the towels was obviously not cleaned due to the apparent skid marks on it. The walls here are extremely thin as we all found out due to the couple next door!! Thank you for the last few nights 🥰

Nice location, very close to the center. However, you need to walk uphill a lot to get to the center (but that's just like Edinburgh in a nutshell). The owners were super nice and helpful. The room itself was alright. It could use a bit more cleaning and an unpleasant smell came from the bathroom even though the owner tried to get rid of it. There were also some broken light bulbs
