About East Claremont Guest House

Edinburgh's New Town area is home to East Claremont Guest House, set within a Georgian townhouse on East Claremont Street. It's an adults-only property with 8 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, free Wi-Fi and a stocked drinks selection, giving the place a relaxed, grown-up feel rather than a corporate hotel one.

Breakfast is included, there's a bar on site, and a garden gives guests somewhere to sit outside. Practical extras such as luggage storage and a laundry service make it a sensible base for longer stays, and family rooms are available for those travelling together.

Edinburgh Waverley station is close by, making onward travel straightforward, and Edinburgh Zoo is within easy reach for a day out. The surrounding area suits walking and cycling, with pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for evenings out, plus golf, fishing and watersports on offer a little further afield.

Lovely little place in Edinburgh, I would choose it again. The location is good, we arrived from the airport using the tram and then walking for around 10 minutes. The city center is located around a 15-20 minute walk, although bus connections are also available. Our room was small, but comfortable, we slept really well. A mini fridge is available, also a kettle and coffee machine. The bathroom was really tiny, and what the size of it wasn't necessarily an issue, it did lacked shelves to put stuff on, as well as towel rack/hanger to dry towels. We had to improvise. Breakfast was also really good, you get to choose from a full Scottish breakfast or just grab certain cooked items which you prefer. There's also a buffet with scones, pancakes, jams, ham and cheese. Good coffee also. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I recommend this hotel. They have good location, Tom and lady were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is tradicional Scotland, it was very generous and really tasty. The room is comfortable, Nespresso machine ❤️, comfortable bed and clean. I was in new year, Tom gave for us width and came. The shower is hot with strong water. all the things were perfect.

Lovely cosy and quirky Scottish guest house. Rooms was beautiful and comfortable. We had a fridge and a coffee pod machine which was a lovely bonus. Great location and parking was easy to find nearby. Full Scottish breakfast in the morning was excellent.

One of the very best boutique guest houses that I've stayed in. Very pleasant and informative host. Quirky decorated, especially the breakfast room. Bedrooms are a good size, clean and tidy, ensuite bathroom was on the small side but functional. Hot breakfast freshly prepared to your requirements. Buffet options available and plentiful choice. Located a short direct walk to Edinburgh's Princess Street. Lots of artisan shops, bars and eateries close by the guest house. Cannot fault it. Highly recommend it.
