Spend some time looking for accommodation and got disappointed reading reviews for 4-5 star hotels in Edinburgh. Had very low expectations, but my stay at Broughton Townhouse really surprised me in a positive way. Stayed in room 4, which is ideal for a solo traveller. The bedding and towels were very good quality. Something very unexpected to see were two white robes and an organic mint tea supply, among many other touches, which are rare even for 5 star hotels. Definitely worth the money!

Nice boutique hotel in a good location. Easy to walk to both old and new town. There’s also a lot of eateries nearby. The bed is comfy and water pressure in shower is OK. Room size is good - only thing is quite warm but two fans were provided in the room. It’s room only so no other facilities.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautifully designed accommodation right in the heart of Edinburgh. The room was very comfortable, spacious enough for two people, and furnished with great attention to detail. Only the bathroom was a bit dated. Check-in and check-out were completely hassle-free, and communication with the hosts was smooth and friendly throughout. A lovely extra touch was the small complimentary bar at the entrance. Highly recommended!

We stayed in a first-floor room that was genuinely charming and thoughtfully designed. Everything was exceptionally clean, and we were pleasantly surprised by the curated selection of teas, coffee, biscuits, and chocolate available in the room. Each day, the staff came by to tidy up, refresh our towels, and provide a new bottle of water. The host was very kind and consistently willing to help. Overall, our stay was excellent; the only element I would recommend updating is the bathroom. The location is outstanding, just a 15 minute walk from the city center.
