About Courtyard Edinburgh by Marriott
Breakfast is one of the things Courtyard Edinburgh by Marriott does particularly well, and there's a restaurant and bar on site too for guests who want a drink or meal without heading out into the city. The hotel sits over eight floors with 240 rooms, and it offers snack options, room service and outdoor seating for those milder Edinburgh evenings.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, and family and accessible rooms are available alongside the standard options. Guests describe the rooms as clean and spacious, though a few mention that some can feel a little tired around the edges. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to making up for that. Beyond the rooms, the hotel has a gym, spa and sauna, plus business services and meeting rooms for those travelling with work in mind.
The location on Baxters Place puts guests within easy reach of Calton Hill, the Edinburgh Playhouse, the Royal Mile and Waverley station, making it a practical base for sightseeing or catching a train. Parking is available nearby for a fee, and there are pubs, restaurants and entertainment close at hand for evenings spent exploring on foot.
What guests say
We stayed here while attending a show at the Edinburgh Playhouse, and the location couldn't have been better—it's only a one-minute walk away. We had lunch and a couple of drinks in the hotel before heading out, and the food and service were excellent. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Overall, it was a great experience, and we'd happily stay here again.

My experience in this hotel was fantastic. I let them know the day before that I was going to arrive at 11:00 am. As soon as I arrived ( 10 minutes earlier ) the lady the told that they gave an upgrade and my room was going to be ready in 10 minutes and that it was happened. When I was waiting another lady came to us and explained all the tours that we can take during our stay in Edinburgh. The service is wonderful, everything is clean and well maintained and only 8 minutes walking distance to princes street. I would recommend this hotel 100%

Good hotel with a convenient location. Lovely building with a nice terrace outside. Reception are is rather small and a bit overwhelmed in July. The lady attending us was very helpful and professional. The rooms are small and rather basic but OK. We were on the 3rd floor and we had a view on the back area with the dustbins. I understood you neeed to be on 6th and 7th to have a view.

Thanks for a fantastic stay. Our room was so comfortable, deluxe twin, spacious, super comfy beds, lovely mugs, espresso cups, a great coffee machine and generous teas/coffee sachets. Gorgeous toiletries, large bathroom and a stunning view of Carlton Hill. We loved the hotel location and the very comfy terrace. The best part, the staff, so welcoming and friendly. This hotel has quality fixtures & fittings, brilliant staff and a fantastic casual, relaxed and sumptuous atmosphere. It would have been 5 stars, had there been room service and a higher power shower.
