About Market Street Hotel
Breakfast at Market Street Hotel is something of an event, with champagne often on offer alongside the usual spread, and the top-floor restaurant and bar give guests wide views over the city while they eat or unwind in the evening. It's a good starting point for judging the rest of the stay, since the kitchen and bar team clearly take both seriously.
The 94 rooms are well-equipped rather than basic, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, complimentary minibars and Dyson hairdryers among the touches that lift them above the ordinary. Facilities extend to a snack bar, lift access, accessible rooms, concierge and business services, laundry, and luggage storage, making it as workable for business trips as for weekend visits. Childcare is available for families who need it, and staff are consistently described as helpful and accommodating.
Market Street places guests close to Edinburgh Waverley station and within reach of Edinburgh Zoo, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for evenings out, and walking and cycling routes for exploring further afield. Parking is chargeable and off-site, so it's worth planning ahead if arriving by car.

This hotel is incredible! The location is perfect, right by Waverley station so easy access to trains and the airport buses. It's also only a few minutes walk to the Royal Mile. It was my birthday while we stayed with them and they left a lovely card in the room on arrival. The mini bar in the room was a lovely addition - great to have some chilled waters (and something stronger if you prefer) when you get back from exploring the city. The view from the bar/restaurant were wonderful. We had breakfast on one of the days and I was really impressed by the selection available at the continental buffet. The cooked breakfast was also very tasty (although I'd prefer cooked tomatoes than cold ones). Plenty of bars and restaurants in easy walking distance. The rooms were huge and they'd thought of everything - hair straighteners and a Dyson hair dryer, so useful as saves you packing your own. A nice coffee machine and kettle with selection of teas too. Given the central location, it was very quiet in the room. I'd stay here again next time I'm in Edinburgh.

Here’s a polished review that keeps your positive experience front and center while offering constructive feedback. I included your criticism in a way that’s fair and credible, which tends to resonate well with readers. Highly Recommended – Fantastic Location in the Heart of Edinburgh We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 6 Market Street and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh. The location is hard to beat—directly opposite Waverley Station and right in the heart of the city. Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Princes Street, excellent restaurants, and many of the city’s major attractions are all within easy walking distance. Our first room wasn’t ideal, but the team handled the situation exceptionally well and promptly moved us to a much quieter room without any fuss. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in during our travels. A unique bonus was the complimentary in-room minibar, which is replenished daily with drinks and snacks—a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. The staff were always friendly, professional, and eager to help. My only suggestion for improvement would be to ensure the front-of-house team has a deeper knowledge of Edinburgh’s attractions, restaurants, and local amenities. In a city with so much history and character, knowledgeable hotel staff can add enormous value to a guest’s experience. Overall, an excellent hotel in a superb location, and we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location right across from Waverley Trainstation and Airlink bus stop! No hauling your suitcases up any hills or stairs 😅! Loved all the thoughtful touches: Welcome Champagne and a little treat for my birthday in my room! Beautiful curated rooms, I stayed in the category cozy and this room had plenty space! Clean and nice ambiance. Loved the included mini bar also they only restock the water and cookies…not the sodas or alcoholic beverages. Breakfast was included in my package, plenty of choices on top of the breakfast menu (loved the mimosa and champagne offer to start your day)! Staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel for four nights during our UK trip, and it exceeded our expectations. The room we booked was very spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. One of the best features of this hotel is its excellent location. It is directly across from Waverley Station and within walking distance of many of Edinburgh’s major landmarks and attractions. It is also conveniently located just a short 5-minute walk from the airport bus drop-off point, making travel to and from the airport very easy. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always helpful throughout our stay. We especially appreciated the daily housekeeping service, which included replenishing the complimentary snacks and beverages in the room each day—a thoughtful touch that came in handy after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Edinburgh.
