We visit Edinburgh often and this was the first time we branched out a little and chose a place to stay that’s not right in the city centre. I don’t think we will ever go back! Pillars House is just a few tram stops north of Edinburgh town, in a lovely neighbourhood that is quiet and peaceful and unique and its own way. Our room had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Craig, the host, was super accommodating and helpful as we planned our visit. His staff was very nice to us as well. This place is labelled as a “bed and breakfast“ but the breakfast is just basic continental items like yoghurt and fruit and toast and cereal. It was fine for what we needed; we enjoy going out to eat when we are in Edinburgh anyway. All in all, I highly recommend Pillars House in Edinburgh. We will definitely stay there again.

Great location - close to the tram, easy walk to Leith or a longer but nice walk into Edinburgh if you have decent weather. Hosts were good, and plenty of breakfast options included in the kitchen. Rooms are nothing fancy but clean and a great value.

Great location , right next to the tram, easy access to the city, about 5 mins on the tram. Rooms are well fitted and the owner/staff are great and very helpful..Big kitchen where you can prepare meals etc... I will gladly stay here again and highly recommend the place 10/10 .

Lovely bed and breakfast with even lovelier staff. Comfortable beds, nice shared kitchen, easy check in and check out, great location for easy travel around leith, and quick and easy tram right to downtown Edinburgh. If you want to be central to Edinburgh while avoiding the noise and crowds of downtown, this is perfect.
