About Travelodge Edinburgh Cameron Toll

Travelodge Edinburgh Cameron Toll suits travellers who want a straightforward, no-fuss base rather than a destination in itself - families on a driving holiday, students and parents visiting the university, or anyone who'd rather spend their budget on the city than the bed. Free on-site parking at the front, side and rear makes it a practical choice for anyone arriving by car, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those who need one.

The hotel has 115 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, including accessible rooms, though these have occasionally been reported as not fully suiting every guest's needs, so it's worth checking requirements in advance. A Bar Café on site covers breakfast and evening drinks, and reception is staffed around the clock. Rooms are consistently kept clean, and the breakfast selection is a regular highlight for guests.

Craigmillar Park puts guests within reach of Edinburgh University and the wider city centre, with good public transport links cutting down the need to drive once you're settled in. A Costa Coffee sits nearby for a quick coffee stop, along with pubs and restaurants for evenings out. Pets are welcome, and staff are generally noted as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to making up for the hotel's fairly basic, functional style.

The hotel was great in terms of value for money. The highlight of my stay was the blokes working on the reception/bar. They were great people to talk to, professionals and I really enjoyed the experience. The rooms were clean with all basic amenities that you might need. I was disturbed a couple of morning by someone dragging something that resembled a big rubbish bin, but I was able to shake it off. There were some minor issues in the bathroom like not enough water pressure and the floor membrane being separated from the wall exposing a bit of mold, but it was not as bad as it sounds. Overall I am happy by my stay. Good value for money! I recommend it.

Unsafe Hotel! Man who was placed there for months by the council was harassing all the female staff at the hotel. I had to help the girl behind the desk as I could tell she was very upset by him. When I asked him to leave her alone, he became very aggressive. What’s management doing about this? Why are they not looking after the safety of their staff? I should have left, as we were both shaken up about the situation. My emails are being ignored. Received one reply saying it’s being handled but I think they are sweeping it under the carpet. Why are woman being put at risk? Avoid at all costs.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! We have stayed there 2 days last week, they gave us ground floor room- looked like a dungeon. It was next to some drunk guy blasting footie game on. We went to the front desk to switch the rooms. Young lady and her even younger male colleague were confused and not helpful at all, young man kept saying- "we dont accept walk ins",eventho we told him 3x that we are already checked in. They gave us another room on ground floor (this time on the parking lot side saying-its gonna be quieter) claiming hotel is fully booked. Room was dirty, never seen lack of care in my life -like ive seen it in Cameron Toll Travel lodge in Edinburgh. Hair UNDER matress cover, not mine. Hair and dust behind of bathroom door (not mine), towel rack was partially clean- part that was covered with bathroom door was dusty and smudged. Bed nook- dust upon dust. WORST of all THEY HAVE LAUNDRY DELIVERY AT 5.45 TO 6.45 AM ON SUNDAY MORNING!!!! Day before same..some kind if delivery, but around 6.30. Rackety trollies and delivery guys hitting every stone on the path. When we informed older lady at the front desk about it-she said: no one ever complained about that! Dear lady, are you alright?? Both ladies blatantly lied to our faces,i dont believe that no one ever mentioned 1 hour long delivery at 5.45 am on a su day morning. When i said they should change the route, not pass by room windows, she said-it needs to be delivered. No im sorry, no thank you for i formation..no service recovery,nothing..just being defensive and rude. Do not go there. Rooms are not sound proofed, you will hear guests above stomping and pissing, guests next to you doing their toilet stuff and conversations, or arguing. Lack of good service, lack of cleanliness and lack of sleep- all that should be expected at Cameron Toll Travel lodge.

Perfectly serviceable and had everything I needed. I had an accessible room on the first floor. Wider doorways helped and although it was a bit difficult to get through the hallway doors and use the lifts it was ok with practice. The view from the room window was essentially a brick wall which was a shame but you could still see the trees if you didn't mind being potentially seen from the lift area. It was close to all the places I needed to visit and a bit cheaper than the other hotels. Disabled parking is at the front of the house and there was enough available while I was there. I didn't have any of the food so I can't comment on that.
