About Victoria Park House Hotel

Edinburgh Zoo lies within easy reach of Victoria Park House Hotel, making it a sound base for a day among the animals before heading back into town, while Edinburgh Waverley keeps the wider city and its rail connections close at hand. Ferry Road itself puts guests near pubs, restaurants and other local eateries, so evenings out don't require much planning.

The hotel occupies a house dating from 1897, and its ten rooms carry that period character through warm, individual styling rather than anything corporate. Each room comes with an en-suite bathroom, and guests have use of free WiFi throughout. Downstairs there's a bar-and-grill and a separate lounge bar, alongside a garden for quieter moments and free breakfast to start the day.

Practical extras include 24-hour reception, luggage storage, meeting rooms for those combining business with the trip, and free on-site parking, which is a genuine convenience in this part of the city. Golf, fishing and watersports are all listed as nearby options for guests wanting to get outdoors, rounding out a stay that mixes historic character with straightforward city access.

We were there for a wake. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They served tea, coffee, bacon/sausage rolls and biscuits. All were to a high standard. The room was a sensible size for the group and was plain but we'll kept. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the crematorium we used so was very easy to get to.

We went there after my mother's funeral. It is especially convenient for Warriston Crematorium. The room was well laid out and the Coffee, tea, sandwiches, sausage rolls and shortbread were all fine. The staff were very helpful when it came to bringing in more chairs. They offered paper bags to take away the leftover food. I would thoroughly recommend this as a venue. We stayed on to have a final drink in the bar through the hall and it was pleasant too.

Nice local hotel bar with covered outdoor seating. Always a good selection of cask and quality keg beers, often from local breweries. Staff are always polite and friendly. Not many pubs in the Trinity/Ferry Road area, so it’s a good thing that the Gosford Bar is such a nice place to go for a drink. Not tried the bar food, but what I’ve seen others get looks pretty good.
