About The Studley Hotel

Swan Road sits within easy reach of Valley Gardens and the Royal Pump Room Museum, and it's on this leafy stretch of Harrogate that The Studley Hotel makes its home. The town's mix of gardens and period streets makes it a settled base for exploring on foot, with walking and cycling routes nearby and the wider North Yorkshire countryside beyond.

Rooms are traditional in style and kept clean and comfortable, with some offering kitchenettes and proper milk provided for tea and coffee rather than the usual sachets. Each room has an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning, and there's a lift for guests who'd rather avoid the stairs. The on-site Orchid restaurant serves food that guests single out as a highlight, and there's a bar, room service and breakfast available, along with 24 hour reception and laundry service.

Parking is available on site, including an electric vehicle charge point, and free WiFi runs throughout. Golf, fishing and horse riding can all be arranged nearby, while pubs and restaurants sit within easy walking distance. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which sets the tone for a stay built around straightforward comfort rather than fuss.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Studley Hotel in Harrogate and cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our room was nice, spotlessly clean, and featured probably the most comfortable mattresses I have ever slept on! It truly had everything we needed for a perfect night's rest. The location is unbeatable—it is situated right by the town center, meaning all the local shops, cafes, and popular spots like Valley Gardens are just a short walk away. To top it all off, having the amazing Orchid Restaurant right on the ground floor was a massive bonus. Their Pan-Asian cuisine is absolutely out of this world, and it is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Harrogate. If you are planning a trip here, this hotel is a fantastic choice. We will definitely be returning!

We stayed one night as a couple and really enjoyed it. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect — close to the city centre but still quiet at night. Breakfast is served in the Orchid restaurant on the ground floor, and it was amazing. We also had lunch there and absolutely enjoyed it. The Orchid is a must‑try when visiting Harrogate. We’ll definitely be coming back.

We stayed at the Studley Hotel for a couple of nights and had a very enjoyable experience. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Harrogate, making it easy to walk to all the local attractions, shops, and restaurants. Our room was clean, comfortable, throughout our stay. One evening, we decided to dine at Orchid, the hotel's restaurant, and were glad we did. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our visit. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily return in the future.

We had two nights here for my husbands birthday. We'd booked an executive room which was spacious and clean, it had a kitchenette with full sized fridge, microwave and sink. Tea and coffee was provided and what we really liked was having proper milk in the fridge for us to use not the sachets. We thought this was a lovely touch. The hotel is ideally situated in Harrogate, close to shops, bars and restaurants. We booked the breakfast as well, on Monday it was cooked to order but on Tuesday it was set as a buffet. To be honest it was better on the Monday and we can only presume that the buffet on Tuesday was due to far more guests arriving on Monday afternoon so there would've been a lot more people to cook for so buffet was more convenient for the hotel. That's not to say it wasn't nice, it was just better having it cooked to order (choice of poached, scrambled or fried egg but on buffet it's just scrambled). Also we rang up before arrival to book a parking space which was £12 a night and we were happy with this as some of the multi stories were £20+ for 24 hours. We'd definitely stay at the Studley hotel again when we return to Harrogate.
