Absolutely loved Wheathill. We had a 3 night stay on an electric pitch. Views were fantastic, pitch was fantastic, toilets and showers were immaculate, washing up facilities were spot on i have nothing negative to say. There is a lake there for fishing but none of us fish so cant give a review on that bit the people we spoke too said they enjoyed fishing there. Sarah and Mike were wonderful and so very helpful.

Took my teenage son for a weekend of fishing. Its a small quiet place. The lake has loads and loads of carp, the ones we caught were probably 1-3lb. It is a bite a cast place! We stayed in the Nest, which is a self contained camping pod. Has everything you need, very clean and well equipped. Ideal for people like us that wanted a fishing trip but like comforts. We cooked on the fantastic gas BBQ and then had marshmallows on the fire pit. There is a nice little pub a 15 minute walk away, and Ipswich was close enough to nip off for lunch. As long as you are happy with small and quiet, and happy to catch little carp all day, you will not go wrong here.

We had a lovely 2 night stay on the site. We had a non electric pitch right by the lake well positioned near the shower/toilet block. Each pitch had its own bench and parasol which was a nice touch. The facilities were very well maintained with little things all there. Fairy liquid/ tea towels/ scrubbers/ bin bags. There were kids games to use and play with and all well looked after. The diary forest and mud kitchen were an excellent addition keeping everyone entertained it was lovely seeing kids make friends and be off playing and just being kids. The site was peaceful and relaxing and we will return.

Great hidden gem in the Suffolk countryside. Amazing scenic views, secluded, very quiet and beautiful rolling countryside. Facilities compared to most campsites are immaculate and well attended. The fishing lake is well stocked and perfect for children to do float fishing. It’s also great for anyone wanting to target slightly bigger fish. There are some lovely little touches around the campsite like the children’s woodland trail, outdoor mud kitchen and fairy garden. There are also fire pits provided if needed along with chopped wood and complimentary marshmallows for roasting. There’s a great local pub within walking distance too, so what’s not to love. Thank you Sarah and Mike you have such a wonderful business and we will definitely be back!!! The Pennings
