About Dorchester House

Keswick's town centre, pubs, restaurants and shops are all within walking distance of Dorchester House, and the surrounding fells make it a natural base for walking or cycling, with golf, horse riding and watersports also nearby for those wanting more than a stroll. The 17 Southey Street address puts guests close to everything without needing a car, which is just as well since the property has no parking of its own.

Inside, the eight rooms are en-suite and kept spotless, some with views out towards the mountains, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Extras like free WiFi, drinks in the room and a 24 hour reception add convenience, and kids' meals are catered for at breakfast, where a full English is served alongside a good range of other options.

Staff are known for warm, attentive hospitality, including homemade cakes offered as a welcoming touch. There's outdoor seating for taking in the surroundings, and the whole place is arranged over two floors, making it a straightforward, comfortable stopping point for exploring Keswick and the fells beyond.

Fantastic B+B with lovely hosts, who even baked a caramel cake for us coming back from running at KMF, so needed!! Room 8 was top floor, great views, very clean, towels fluffy and bedding fresh smelling. Lovely tea and coffee tray, topped up sd needed. Breakfast was lovely, local produce, again Lorraine was chatty and attentive. Would definately come back Thankyou

Had a brilliant 2 night stay here. Felt welcome from the moment we arrived , the breakfasts were brilliant and the salted caramel cake let outside the room when we got back from a day out was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend

Myself and my partner stopped here for the new year and had a wonderful time. The hosts Lorraine and Simon were wonderful and we felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. The location is great just a very short wander from the centre of Keswick and all that has to offer. The breakfasts were brilliant, everyday I had the full English and it kept me going for some really long hikes each time. As it was new year's special, we were treated throughout and were truly spoilt with welcome, new year's eve and new years day treats. I had my first ever afternoon tea and really enjoyed. Overall a great experience and we would go again. Jim and Orsi

I booked my room long before my trip, and I’m so glad I did! This is a great stay, very clean room with everything we need! Comfortable bed, spacious enough for our family of four. Lovely decorated, and yummy breakfast, they even left us banana bread one day! Lorraine is very warm and make us feel at home! They are very responsive too, if you need anything. 10 out of 10.
