I gave 1 star because I couldn't give 0 star. 2 awful nights in This guest house. It stinks a nightmare for us . Dirty rooms , no pat testing on appliances. Tiny room with damp up the walls. A tiny noisy fan in room in a heatwave No breakfast, we stayed out as long as we could because we couldn't bear to be in there.I don't know how they can operate absolutely awful AVOID AVOID.

A lot of money for very little service. Chose to stay here for a weekend of hiking cause it was close to town..which it is. Arrived and wasn't met by owner (a family crisis) got key, went up to room which defo needs TLC, the wallpaper on ceiling was coming off in places, the bathroom radiator was cracked, the main door wasn't fitted properly and had a gap, the lock also didn't work, lastly the shower and window were grubby. There was no welcome folder, nothing to say thank you for saying or here's what you do in the event of a fire. I received a couple of texts messages and a quick call from the owner. Found out as well that even though Google and a couple of websites say they do breakfast, they don't now..you also have to ask for your room to be cleaned. There's definitely better places to stay in keswick

Great location, rooms are awful..tiny, dated and wallpaper falling off walls and ceilings due to damp. Shower on top floor rooms doesn’t work as no pressure to reach these floors. Our friends stayed in the top 3 rooms. Only good thing about this place is the location otherwise much nice accommodation to choose from . Would not recommend. No host appeared throughout our stay and no breakfast on offer.

Tiny room. The shower is small. Paid 100 pounds and no space for opening bags. No hosts to be seen. No reception. I think there might have been breakfast and reception area few years back which explains some of the good reviews. Now there is no way even to contact the management. They just kept the keys in a safe. The reviews and ratings are probably by the owners themselves.
