About The Edwardene
Keswick sits amid the fells and lakes of Cumbria, a market town built for walking, cycling and exploring Derwentwater, and it's here on Southey Street that The Edwardene makes its home. This adults-only guest house has 12 rooms spread across three floors, each with an en-suite bathroom, and the atmosphere is quiet and settled rather than geared towards families.
Mornings bring a freshly cooked breakfast with a good range of choices, and a packed lunch can be arranged for those heading out to the fells for the day. There's a bar on site for an evening drink, along with outdoor seating, free WiFi, 24 hour reception and luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures. Mountain views are on offer from the property, and staff keep the place running with a genuinely welcoming manner.
Beyond the front door, Keswick's pubs, restaurants and shops are all within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers golf, horse riding, watersports and some of the best walking and cycling country in England. Free parking is available nearby, useful given the town's narrow streets. Derwentwater itself is close enough to visit on foot, making The Edwardene a practical base for a few days in the Lake District.
What guests say
I had an excellent 2 night stay in June. The room was unusually spacious for a Keswick B&B. Very welcoming from the office, the service was friendly and efficient. The full English was a nicely cooked plateful and the Smoked Salmon with Scrambed eggs was great. It's an easy walk into Keswick centre, less than 5 minutes.

Wonderful accommodation centrally located in Keswick. The breakfast was outstanding, which is served every morning between 8-9am. Linnet is a smaller room but had a comfortable bed and nice view. Book a larger deluxe room if you need more space. Staff were friendly and always on hand to assist. A great base for exploring Keswick and the Lake District, even without a car as the bus stop is around the corner.

Me and my boyfriend had a great time staying at The Edwardene. It's a great base for Keswick, just a two minute walk to the centre. The room was nice and clean, with a kettle and tea/coffee/hot chocolate. Breakfast in the morning was lovely, lots of choice and service was excellent. I highly recommend staying here, and hopefully we, ourselves, will be back this year for another hiking trip. Thank you!

We stayed in the Merlin room, which is quite small but still nice. Very good shower, comfy bed, and a view of Blencathra if you stand at the window. There is a common room, lounge, which is great and has a drinks fridge and crisps etc, also lots of games. The breakfast is very good! Lots of choice as well. Very friendly host. Very good location. The parking is on the street however, and we happened to be there at the Festival of the Mountains, so very busy!!! The Edwardene is excellent!
