ODEON Edinburgh West Luxe

Big fan of this modern cinema in Edinburgh. First time trying odeon iSense! Big fan of it. It’s a large screen, not quite as big as imax but I’d say the quality is better! It’s 4K and brighter. And the Dolby atmos sound is breathtaking. All reclining seats too! Will be back!

I watched Beetlejuice and I was impressed. Not just by the film. The cinema is very posh and beautiful and the staff couldn't be more helpful . I also liked the selection of snacks and drinks. The seats were very comfortable and there was the possibility to lift up your legs. The restrooms were spotless . All in all it was a luxurious experience, especially given it's location.

I’ve had multiple bad experiences at Odeon Luxe Edinburgh recently. First, I received a parking fine in their car park because there was no clear warning that you get fined after two hours. They have since changed this and now ask customers to enter their registration on the iPad near the popcorn counter — something they should have done from the start. More seriously, I lost my Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro during a late screening. The tracking showed they were taken to a residential house less than a mile away around 11pm, after all screenings had finished. I left a polite letter asking for them back. The next day they were handed in, but the manager (an older gentleman) aggressively argued with me and insisted they were not my earbuds — even though I could clearly identify them. It was very clear that a member of staff had taken them instead of handing them in. Because of these repeated issues, I will not be returning to this location and I will also be cancelling my Odeon Limitless membership. I’ll be going back to Cineworld instead, even though it’s further away!

The cinema itself is decent enough, with comfortable seating and a generally pleasant atmosphere. However, the main issue is the lack of accountability when it comes to customers who disrupt screenings with constant talking. Even when there are only a few people in the theatre, there always seem to be individuals talking throughout the movie, and there appears to be little to no effort from staff to address this behaviour. This consistently ruins the experience for those who simply want to enjoy the film. Unfortunately, due to this ongoing issue and its repetition every time I visit, I will have to start looking to go to another cinema further away if this continues just to have a more enjoyable and respectful movie experience.
