About Iolanthe

Iolanthe suits visitors who want an unfussy base in North West London rather than a destination hotel in its own right. Set in a neo-Georgian home, it offers straightforward rooms and a full English breakfast, making it a practical choice for anyone prioritising comfort and location over frills.

Rooms are kept simple, with drinks available in-room and garden views from parts of the property. There's a garden itself to sit in, free WiFi throughout, and 24 hour reception for guests arriving at odd hours. Luggage storage is on hand for those making the most of a short stay, and a meeting room is available for anyone combining business with travel.

The setting gives easy access to Hampstead Heath and Golders Green, with pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries nearby for evening meals, plus entertainment options within reach. It works well as a low-key stopover for exploring this side of London, rather than a place built around its own facilities.

Small and cozy B&B in a very safe and quaint neighborhood with a solid breakfast. Stayed over New Year's Eve and had a wonderful time. The B&B is located directly opposite the Hamstead Heath Extension, with some rooms and the breakfast room looking out over it. The location is great for walks and connected by tube (zone 3) and bus well enough during the day, not that great after midnight. An Uber from central London is around 40£ and 20£ from Golders Green Station (a ~ 20 min walk during the day through the Heath).

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable and clean, and the house was full of character. The host Rosie, was warm and welcoming and the breakfast was really good. The location was perfect for walking on the Heath, and into Hampstead and the wider area. Loved it! Will definitely return.

A quaint typical English home. We stayed for 2 nights and more or less had the place to ourselves. I read about sharing the bathroom but in all honesty this didn't really affect us. Breakfast was good. The 2 German couples and the Italian girl thought it was amazing. If I need to be in this area of London again I wouldn't mind staying again.

Highly recommended if you're looking for a place to stay that has a lot of character. The host Rosy was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast were very nice. Bathroom is shared between guests, but I found it impeccable at all times during my 3 day stay. Lovely surroundings if you want to go for a stroll nearby. Will definitely return!
