About Kings Cross Inn Hotel
Kings Cross Inn Hotel puts King's Cross and St Pancras stations right across the road, making it a practical base for exploring London by rail or tube without much of a walk to start the journey. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries sit nearby too, so evenings out don't require travelling far from the door.
The hotel has 87 rooms fitted with air conditioning, and guests have free WiFi throughout. There's a restaurant and bar on site, plus breakfast available, and facilities extend to a garden, meeting rooms, business services and concierge support, making it workable for both leisure stays and work trips. The property also hosts weddings and offers free on-site parking, useful for anyone arriving by car rather than train.
It's generally considered good value for the price and the location is a genuine draw, though some rooms have been reported as tired or in need of better upkeep, so it suits travellers prioritising position and cost over polish.

What guests say
It goes without saying that the location of this hotel is very strategic, but the service and room quality exceeded our expectations. The beds are comfortable, the room is clean and decently sized, and the AC works perfectly! Service was great and the receptionist at the time (terribly sorry we didn’t get his name!) went out of his way for our convenience. Had a wonderful stay here, nothing to complain about!

Had the terrible experience with this hotel. When my husband n i checked in around 4pm, we were given a room located on 4th floor n i asked if there were lower level rooms as lift only served up to level 3. Having upper levels meant carrying up a few flight of stairs. We were travelling with two big luggages and had to lug it up. The staff was simply uninterested and said the rooms were full without even checking the system. We carried it up nonetheless. When we returned,we realised the aircon was not working. I went down and mention it to another staff. He adjusted the temperatures on his main controller and provided a fan, promising it will be cool and we could use the fan in the meantime. Little did I know, this fan was to be used throughout the night. It was the first night of heatwave, both of us were still recovering from our flu and we desperately needed sleep. Once again, I went down to ask for a room switch as the room did not cool. The staff said there were no rooms available. I asked if a refund was possible, he said no and he said his manager was not picking up the phone (we did not see him call) and told us he already helped us solve the problem by giving us the fan. I said the problem was not fixed, the aircon was still broken. I asked whether there will be anyone who can fix, he said no. What he said next was the most shocking thing he said was that did you check your room when U checked in and we should have checked it. We said we checked and in fact the bin wasn't even cleared (my husband saw a coke can in the bin when both of us don't drink coke). I asked him if it's him, will he check if the air condition is working first thing you check in the room. He said yes. It is simply ridiculous. I didn't know when checking into a hotel, we r supposed to turn into a maintenance guy all of a sudden? I felt the rooms and service felt short. There was no attempt to have any form of service recovery and we even had to ask for another room once someone checked out the next. We also had to carry the luggages ourselves back to level one the next day after having inadequate sleep. Even after switching to another room, we felt that the condition of the room were quite old. Their beds are quite well used and I had trouble sleeping after that. Although they have daily housekeeping, the toilet had a strong sewage smell. The only good thing I can think of is the location and only deserved one star for the review

What I liked The biggest advantage of this hotel is definitely the location. It’s right next to King’s Cross and St Pancras, which makes it incredibly convenient if you’re arriving by train or planning to move around London using public transport. Many guests choose it exactly for that reason — it’s hard to beat the convenience of being so close to major stations and attractions. The staff can be friendly and helpful, and some guests — myself included — found the check-in process and general interaction pleasant when things were calm. The rooms usually have the basics you need for a short stay — a bed, tea/coffee facilities, and a simple setup that works if you’re mostly out exploring the city. For a quick overnight or transit stay, the hotel can be practical simply because of its central position. What I didn’t like The hotel could definitely improve its cleanliness and overall maintenance. While some rooms are cleaned, many guests mention that the building feels quite worn or dated, with small details showing lack of upkeep. The value for money is questionable. Considering the price, the comfort and quality don’t always match expectations, and several travellers feel it’s expensive for what is offered. Service can also be inconsistent. Some staff members are helpful, but others seem less attentive, which creates an uneven experience depending on who is on duty. Another issue frequently mentioned is noise, especially because the hotel sits on a busy road near major stations, which can make sleeping difficult for light sleepers. Rooms tend to be small and basic, and a few maintenance issues — like older furniture or minor defects — make the stay feel more budget than comfortable. Overall Kings Cross Inn is a convenient but modest hotel. Its strength is clearly the unbeatable location, but the experience would improve a lot with better cleaning, more consistent service, and upgrades to rooms and facilities. It works for a short, practical stay — but at the current prices, many guests expect a higher standard.

I would like to commend the wonderful reception staff members Julia and Betty who made our stay so enjoyable. They truly went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met, always with warmth and professionalism. What impressed us most was how they checked in to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied. Their genuine care and attention to detail made us feel valued throughout our stay. Their exceptional service is a real credit to the hotel, and she made our experience both smooth and memorable.

Guests consistently praise this hotel for its unbeatable location directly opposite both King's Cross and St Pancras stations, its rooms equipped with air conditioning, and its good value for the price.
Other reviews mention the rooms can be poorly maintained and can be unpleasant smelling.
