Lovely theatre and staff, nice cafe with locally brewed drinks. Seats are amazing! So comfortable and well padded, like a couch! Had plenty of legroom too, unlike other places

The playhouse is gorgeous with a traditional cosy atmosphere. The bar is comfortable and the staff are extremely helpful. I attended a concert in the auditorium and the high tiered searing give a great view of the stage.

Difficult recommendation. While I think Alnwick Playhouse is lovely overall, you need to keep your expectations in check. It's really not gonna be like going to some big chain movie theatre. The seats, depending on the theater you sit in, aren't the most comfortable and are "unorthodox" for lack of a better term. We saw Mandalorian and Grogu and the theater they had us in had our butts quite sore after that. Cafe food varies in quality too. My soup of the day and latte was fantastic, whereas my partner had a very unfortunate jacket potato for 10 pound. If you're in Alnwick for awhile I'd give it a try just once, for the most part you're just paying for convenience of having a movie theater at all in a small town.
