About Spark by Hilton Luton

Luton railway station is a short distance from Spark by Hilton Luton, and the DART shuttle connection to the airport makes this a practical base for early flights or late arrivals. The surrounding area offers pubs, restaurants and eateries within walking reach, along with golf, fishing and horse riding nearby for those staying longer, plus general walking areas for stretching your legs.

The hotel itself has 87 rooms, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and in-room drinks. Beds are comfortable and the showers are well fitted, though some rooms run on the smaller side. A restaurant, bar and snack bar cover meals on-site, with breakfast served daily, kids' meals available, and room service or laundry for added convenience.

Beyond the rooms, guests have use of a gym, lift access, concierge services and outdoor seating, along with free WiFi throughout and an electric vehicle charge point. On-site parking is available for a charge. Staff are consistently described as attentive and welcoming, helping to offset the compact room sizes with a genuinely helpful stay.

While the rooms are quite small, they are clean, have air con and a decent fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Where I was really impressed is with Vasyl on the front desk. He was incredibly helpful on the multiple occasions I spoke with him, and addressed me as Miss Miller each time, which I found charming. I'd stay here again based on the customer service alone.

First time I have stayed in the budget brand Sparks hotel which is part of the Hilton. As long as you understand this is the budget brand and you get what you pay for then you will be fine. Rooms were basic but clean and tidy with a desk to work on. Had coffee making facilities including a espresso machine. Didn't order any food as the menu looked pretty basic

Overall a decent hotel and I would probably stay again if I had to visit Luton, it's in an alright central place within Luton, but Luton itself of course is not a nice place to be. Why the 3* rating if you would stay again you ask? Check in was good and swift, the room was clean (albeit with a very scuffed floor.) It was easy to climate control the room and the bed was comfy. Bathroom modern and shower spacious and decent. But there were a number of issues that would be easy to rectify and greatly improve the stay and it's a shame that a Hilton hasn't addressed these. These are: Rooms advertised as having mini fridges but these aren't really functional at all (basically it was just a room temperature box taking up storage space) Blackout curtains not good enough, other hotels have special rails or fitted blinds to completely block out light, these let loads of light through which was a bother. The TV had a light behind it which kept flashing. The phone needed unplugging else the bright screen was a disturbance. For a queen size room the floorplan of the room was very cramped (not so easy to address but worth drawing attention to.) And perhaps the biggest issue of all. Soundproofing. Hard floors feel more hygienic and easy to keep clean, however, the person directly above us decided to take a shower at 2am and I could hear both the water trickling down the drain through the AC unit vent and every single footstep they took. Kept me awake for over an hour. Highly annoying. Could also hear the street outside the hotel and noise outside the door which is more usual but in combination with everything else compounded the annoyance. Not like they were making excessive noise either, just using their room normally. To alleviate this I would in future ensure I selected a room on the uppermost floor or maybe the hotel can consider how hard floor carries sound?

Very modern hotel, clean rooms, good fixtures and fittings, great shower, good water flow and temperature control. Friendly staff on reception. Only disappointment was safe did not work and fridge was not cold otherwise very nice. Very limited parking in hotel carpark so you need to book early.
