North Yorkshire

View on Google Maps

Mallard Cottage comes with everything needed for a self-catering stay: wifi, electricity and heating are covered, bed linen and towels provided, and the kitchen is properly outfitted with electric oven, hob, microwave, air fryer, fridge-freezer and washing machine. A welcome pack, travel cot and highchair are available, and there is private parking for one car on site.

This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cottage sleeps 4 and occupies a rural setting in Esk Valley with views across open countryside. The main bedroom has a four-poster double bed; the second has bunks. Downstairs there is a living and dining room with a television and DVD player. Outside, a lawned garden includes a summerhouse and sitting-out area with furniture. The property dates from the 1860s and retains its character while offering modern comforts.

Grosmont lies about a mile away via a walking trail that runs past the engine sheds of the North Yorkshire Moors heritage railway. This scenic railway operates steam trains between Whitby on the coast and Pickering, passing through Goathland (recognisable from the Harry Potter films) and running past Mallyan Spout waterfall. The area suits walkers and those keen to explore the moors and valleys; many circular routes start from the cottage's doorstep. Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
