About Best Western The Plough Hotel

Best Western The Plough Hotel occupies a substantial three-floor building on Bridge Street, close to Northampton town centre and the General Hospital. With 38 rooms, it has the scale of a proper coaching inn while keeping the practical extras of a modern hotel, including free on-site parking and a pet-friendly policy for those travelling with dogs.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the option of family accommodation, and the hotel also holds a bridal suite and meeting rooms, making it a workable choice for weddings or small events as well as overnight stays. There's a bar and outdoor seating for relaxing after the day, free WiFi throughout, and a cooked breakfast that stands out as one of the better parts of a stay here. Some guests have noted that rooms can pick up noise from elsewhere in the building, and that service standards among staff can be inconsistent, though many find the team friendly and helpful.

The location puts guests within reach of a nearby golf course, pubs, bars and restaurants, plus other entertainment options in the area. Prices are generally considered reasonable for what's on offer, and the free parking is a genuine convenience for anyone arriving by car in a town centre setting.

The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped, with everything we needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful, especially allowing us to drop our car off early before heading to a local event, which made our day much easier. It's a charming little hotel in a great location, and although we only stayed one night, we'd happily stay again. Customer service was excellent throughout, and it's clear the team genuinely care about their guests.

Lovely hotel, ideally situated for the town centre, with a nice river walk just down the road. On arrival we were unexpectedly upgraded to a superior room. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Breakfast was lovely. Evening meal was tasty. The reception staff were particularly outstanding.... welcoming, chatty and helpful. The woman who checked us in (long brown straight hair) was especially lovely.

Typical town hotel. I had a single room for 1 night. Room was perfectly adequate for the one night i was in it also clean. Room was very hot but what room is not during this heatwave. There was a fan supplied which did a good job of cooling me down. Bathroom had broken tiles on the floor and there is clearly water leaking from around door area to tiled plinth shower tray sits on which had been glued up with copious amounts of silicone. Room was noisy due to location above a busy road and ear plugs are supplied. Nice breakfast and friendly staff.

The room was large and very clean. As was the bathroom with a large shower. Front facing aspect to our room. possibly noisy during the week (ear plugs are supplied by the hotel if required). we had no problem sleeping on our weekend stay. Fairly quiet. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent we had full English plenty of food . Evening meal again was excellent food and cooked perfectly. Very well priced and good value. All food at the hotel was freshly cooked to order, to high standard. The Staff at the the Plough were very friendly, professional and courteous. We would highly recommend and would stay here again.
