About Castell Deudraeth
Castell Deudraeth is the more contemporary of Portmeirion's two hotels, a Victorian castellated folly built by David Williams and given a modern interior when it reopened as a hotel in 2001. It sits just inside the estate near the main gatehouse, a short walk from the piazza and gardens.
Its eleven rooms are styled in a clean, contemporary manner that contrasts with the turreted stone exterior, and the hotel's brasserie and bar open onto a Victorian walled garden used for outdoor dining in warmer months.
Guests have the same access to the wider Portmeirion estate as those staying at Hotel Portmeirion, and the castle's slightly more relaxed, informal atmosphere suits visitors who want the setting without the full period grandeur of the main hotel.

Our suite was like a flat, large and comfortable. We had Netflix and Amazon on on TV. The restaurant menu was limited but the food was top quality. The staff were really friendly. If you stay here you can go into Port Meirion village free, and they will shuttle you back to the castle. A really relaxing and intimate environment as there are only 12 rooms. You do need to.book for dinner as it gets busy and fully booked. Prices fair.

If you want to have Portmerion to yourself after hours then stay here or in the villiage . We booked last minute on a dinner , bed and breakfast deal. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly although our room wasn't quite ready we were checked in , given our room key and invited to take a walk into the villiage. It was an easy downhill 5 min stroll. We ate dinner at the hotel , the food was perfect and the team were low key , kind and helpful , fabulous service all round. Walking back to the hotel was incredible after hours, it was all beautifully lit and so peaceful. It was a wonderful overnight stay. Our room was clean , well maintained and the bed was super comfy.

The deal for the 2/3 course lunch + portmeiron is great. We would have eaten here any way before wandering the village so it worked out well. However, the service was terrible. The servers constantly had their backs faced to the restaurant. They forgot multiple things on our order and forgot to serve us water. The food was good but nothing special. Beautiful location!

Beautiful location with fantastic views from the large airy dinning room. Lovely entrance hall with welcome log fire. Very smart but not stuffy. Staff professional and attentive. Proper old fashioned service. Food is just amazing and consistently so over several visits. It's a treat to visit. We go for the fixed lunch time menu £30 for two courses and £35 for three but this includes your entry into Portmerrion so is good value. Service charge is included.
