About Harrow Lodge Hotel

Harrow Lodge Hotel occupies a modest, homely building on Palmerston Road in Shanklin, with just 20 rooms giving it the feel of a small, personally-run establishment rather than a large seaside hotel. It's the kind of place built for relaxed stays, with a garden to sit out in and views over the Isle of Wight countryside and coast.

Rooms come with the everyday essentials covered: free WiFi throughout, and breakfast included to set guests up for the day. Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar for evening meals and drinks, plus a tearoom for a quieter afternoon stop. The garden adds a pleasant outdoor spot in fine weather, and the hotel also hosts weddings for those wanting a seaside setting. Pets are welcome, and luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures.

Free on-site parking makes it straightforward for those arriving by car, and the Palmerston Road location puts guests within easy reach of Shanklin's own attractions. It's a straightforward, comfortable base for exploring the Isle of Wight rather than a destination in itself.

We have just come home from a lovely holiday in the IOW, this is the first time we’ve stayed at The Harrow Lodge Hotel in fourteen years and in all honestly we loved it first time round and now it’s even better! Our room was spotlessly clean and the sea view was stunning, we were made to feel very welcome during our stay by the friendly and helpful staff. The bar is stocked with a wide variety of drinks and the breakfasts were absolutely awesome, the location is also perfect (nestled perfectly between Shanklin old village and the lower sea front so it’s great for walks). We’d like to thank everyone at Harrow Lodge and would 100% recommend to all, thanks for having us and hopefully we’ll be back soon. Sean & Jayne - Room 2.

Had a terrible experience at this hotel. Housekeeping only works until 11:00 and if you not out by then you have to wait for the next day. They only have one key to the room so have to leave your key for the cleaning staff. The one day I was late getting back to my room and we were locked out because the staff had left for the day. I phoned at 21:20pm and got a voice message that there hours are from 08:00 to 22:00 but nobody was in. There were no emergency numbers to call management. This was very annoying and why don't they have extra keys for housekeeping. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Spent a lovely few days at the hotel last week with my sister. Room was very clean, beds comfy, lovely breakfast and staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. All in all a very relaxing break. I would recommend it and hope to return again in the future.

Such a gem of a little hotel on the Clifftop. We hadn't been here for over 20 years when we used to come with our kids. Cannot fault anything but particularly have to praise every single one of the staff. They were all so chatty and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was well cooked and the bar well stocked and reasonably priced. Everything clean and well kept. Well done to Gina and her team we will be back!!
