What guests say
I've just spent a superb week at the excellent Victoria lodge. I received a warm and friendly welcome from the owners. I was given a free upgrade from a single to a double room which was nice. My room was spotless and had everything i needed. The breakfast is great which plenty of choice from cereals, fruit, pastries and cooked 🍳. Overall it's a brilliant place to stay and it's ideally located for exploring Shanklin and there's good transport links nearby to explore the whole island.

Had a wonderful stay at Victoria Lodge Pez & Alysa couldn’t do enough for us nothing was too much trouble. Our sea view room was lovely so clean & comfortable. Wi-Fi was good & ample private parking available which was very handy. Breakfast was amazing a range of fresh fruit, pastries, cereals & cooked options the full English was delicious & was a great start to the day. Also there were homemade preserves for your toast if you still had room😃 as there motto says arrive as strangers leave as friends which was most definitely the case. Highly recommend

I’ve just had the most amazing stay at Victoria Lodge Hotel. As soon as you arrive you are greeted like an old friend. The staff couldn’t do more for you and don’t get me started on just how DELICIOUS the breakfast was… More on that later..! The hotel’s lounge and breakfast area have a sensational view of the sea, Culver Down, and Shanklin itself. I had the same view from my bedroom window. Picture perfect. There’s a lovely little garden that you can also use with chairs and picnic tables if you’d rather sit outside in the sunshine instead of relaxing in the very homely lounge. It’s plastic free so there’s tea and coffee making facilities in your room and downstairs in the breakfast area there’s a fridge full of milk and ceramic milk jugs for you to help yourself to and take a jug of fresh cold milk back to your room. Much better than the mini UHT milks you usually get which don’t taste wonderful and truth be told the plastic does our environment no good. The bed in the room was really comfy and the bathroom really nice too. Hot shower and powerful too! Just what you need first thing. Nice little desk, two bedside tables with lamps. Plenty of usb ports to charge gadgets and a wardrobe for your clothes. Everything you need for your stay basically! Lovely seaside theme to the colours, bedding and pictures too. Now onto breakfast … I could write a book on just how much I enjoyed it! I made myself a cup of coffee from the breakfast buffet and sat down watching the sun come up over the horizon. There must be at least 8 or more types of tea plus instant coffee both normal and decaf and a proper coffee machine as well. You help yourself to as much as you want and the same applies for the lovely chilled orange juice. Toast there’s multigrain fresh bread and white bread, again, help yourself to as much as you want and to spread on your toast there’s marmite, honey and genuinely the MOST delicious homemade jams and lemon curd. One of the owners of the hotel makes them all herself and I could have eaten a whole jar of each with just a spoon. I’ve never had more amazing jam or curd in my life..! A neighbour of mine at home sells homemade jam which i always considered to be the best you could buy but I stand corrected. The homemade jam and curd here is truly divine… I’d stay again simply for that reason. The same lady also makes homemade granola, don’t miss trying this either as it’s very very good and dangerously moreish! The hot breakfast is made fresh to order, a full English or bacon/sausage sandwich, or scrambled/poached eggs on toast. I enjoyed every single bite of my hot breakfast, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection and believe me that’s not easy to do.. I’ve tried…! There’s a big bowl of fresh fruit to help yourself to as well and cereals along with the homemade granola there’s cornflakes, weetabix, muesli, Cheerios, coco pops, rice crispies, others I’ve forgotten I’m sure and there’s dried prunes, chia seeds and other toppings available in jars for you to add to your cereal. For gluten free people (I’m not one myself) there’s a separate breakfast station with its own cereal, bread and toaster to avoid cross contamination. Don’t forget all of this is included in the price and you have such an amazing view of Culver Down and the horizon beyond while you eat. I just wish I’d found this place sooner. Book directly to get the best price. I assure you you won’t regret choosing this place to stay for your Isle of Wight break. I really can’t wait to go back!
