About Highfield House Hotel

Highfield House Hotel suits travellers who want a no-fuss base for work or a short break in Southampton, rather than a destination in itself. With 71 rooms, free on-site parking and air conditioning throughout, it works well for anyone arriving by car or needing a reliable overnight stop close to the city.

Rooms are modern and come with en-suite bathrooms, in-room drinks and free WiFi, and accessible rooms are available for guests who need them. Breakfast is included, and there's an adjacent restaurant for those who don't want to head out in the evening, plus luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures. Pets are welcome, which makes it a practical option for travellers on the road with animals in tow.

Beyond the hotel, guests have a golf course, pubs, bars and other restaurants within easy reach, along with local entertainment options. It's a functional, comfortable choice for visitors who want convenience and value over anything more elaborate.

This is an asylum seekers hostel not a hotel. It's located in a multicultural, diverse, friendly community which is only made unpleasant by far right protesters demonstrating against the human rights of asylum seekers.

I checked in late, the night porter was very friendly and helpful! The room was a bit cold for my liking when I arrived and the heating appeared to be off. I was warm enough under the duvet though! Breakfast was well varied, with continental and hot options all available. Very reasonable price for it too. Would happily stay here again.

Had a Superior double room. The room itself (No 4) was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom. Managed to get a car park space as well, and hotel is in good position. However, the room was right above the very noisy bar below with thumping music, so no chance of sleep until the early hours of the morning. The bar also has seating outside right below the room, so I would hate to be here in the summer when the outside is used. Disappointed with stay as not cheap.

Large, tidy room with lovely reception service. Bathroom quite tired, but bed is comfortable. Room has a lockable safe with mains socket inside which is a nice touch. Breakfast buffet is £9.50 which is rather pricey considering the quality, and that there is a Wetherspoons just over the road! All in all, we were accommodated at very short notice and, for the price, I can't complain. Look out for comparison sites to get the best deals on rooms.
