About Travelodge Southampton

Travelodge Southampton is a seven-floor budget hotel on Lodge Road, built along straightforward, functional lines with a lift serving all levels and 59 en-suite rooms. Rooms come with drinks-making facilities and comfortable beds, and accessible rooms are available for those who need them. Some guests have found rooms can run warm or pick up noise from nearby corridors and traffic, so light sleepers may want to ask for a quieter room when booking.

The hotel has 24-hour reception and on-site parking, charged separately and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis after registering your vehicle at check-in. There's an electric vehicle charge point for those who need it, and pets are welcome. Staff are consistently mentioned as helpful and accommodating, which counts for a lot on a short stay.

Southampton city centre, the cruise terminal and Southampton Common are all within easy reach, making this a practical base whether you're setting off on a cruise or exploring the city. Pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries are nearby, along with entertainment and fishing spots for those with time to spare.

This Travelodge is on the outskirts of Southampton city centre,. There is a bus stop about a minuite walk away, which is served by a nuumber of buses. It only takes about 6 mins bus ride into the city centre. There is a Lidle's near, plus a small perade of shops, This Travelodge is parallel to a main busy road, so without the windows closed, the noise level can be quite intense and disruptive, It is not like any Travelodge i have been to, in comparison, the entrencce is quite small with a small welcoming desk. There seems to be a 24H front desk, so this is helpful. There is a lift that takes people to the rooms. The Travelodge has 6 floors, and the bedrooms are all opened with a key (not a fob or keycard). This gives me the impression on a franchise of Travelodge, however i could be wrong. The room itself was very nicely kept, level of cleniness was good, and the bed was very comfirtable, The hotel/cleaning staff have made some useful adjustment within the room to reduce the heat levels in the room and to keep guests cool, in the latest heatwave. One critique i have was that the toilet kept draining water from cistern , so would constantly be making a noise, so had to close toilet lid and bathroom door in order to get any sleep. Although the windows were open on arival, it is necessary to close then at night, as the early morning trafic woke me up earlier that i wantedd to. These windows did take a while to figure out how to close, as they are not straight forward, however i had to stand on tiptoes to do this. I was not impressed with Southampton city, or the iratating toilet and noise in the morning. So i decided to leave a day before i should have I do not recommend this hotel for long stays. The only saving grace was the bus links into the city and beyond.

I had multiple issues staying here from the start: - TV Remote didn't work and volume turned to maximum - Leak dripping from the bathroom ceiling - Wifi was far too complicated to setup. We had 4 staying in our room but only allowed 2 devices! Not worth the money or effort. - Room to hot during heatwave. No aircon. - Too much external noise from the busy main road even with earplugs. Sirens, loud music and motorbikes throughout the night. Staff were very helpful but this was a negative hotel experience.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel during the British summer when temperatures were around 24- 30 degrees. The bedroom was unbearable to stay inside due to the high temperature. Even with the windows open at night, we could not get a proper night of sleep in the 3 nights we stayed, it was just so uncomfortable because of the heat. There was no AC and the hotel provided a tiny fan to a room with two people. It was not worth the money as it affected the comfort of our trip. To make things worse, the extractor fan was broken & our room faced the sun which made our bedroom a humid and boiling sauna. Any person could have a heatstroke in that room. Also, we booked a room and paid an extra fee to bring our dog, which we decided not to last minute. A dog could not cope with the heat in that room, it was far from pet friendly. When we complained about those issues, the staff was not very helpful either. So, we won’t be coming back or recommending the hotel to anyone.

I’ve visit for a stay to see the hospitals next time I bring my dog with me there are a lot of woodland walks around Southhampton. The rooms and the reception are so very clean and welcoming I felt safe and sound. Make sure you pay for parking everywhere you go in town ! Will visit again if the fuel prices aren’t to high.
