About The Elizabeth House Hotel

The Avenue runs through Southampton's cultural district, lined with the kind of city energy that makes The Elizabeth House Hotel a practical base whether you're passing through or heading off on a cruise. It's an easy stretch from key attractions and transport links, with free on-site parking taking the stress out of arriving by car.

Rooms are en-suite and come with the basics done well - guests generally find them clean, comfortable and a good size, with drinks available in-room and room service on hand if you'd rather not go out. Accessible rooms are available, and there's a garden and outdoor seating for a quieter moment away from the street. The restaurant and bar serve breakfast and evening meals that guests rate highly, with kids meals available too, though a few have noted the heating can be a bit temperamental in colder months.

Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, particularly when it comes to arranging cruise parking and taxis, which makes this a sensible choice for anyone sailing from Southampton. Beyond the hotel, there's plenty nearby including pubs, restaurants, golf, fishing and watersports, and the property itself welcomes pets and offers 24 hour reception, laundry service and meeting rooms for those combining business with the trip.

Had a bit of trouble parking and was disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open the night we stayed , nor the bar. However the pub down the road was excellent. The young lad on reception was very helpful. Room a bit dated but clean enough. Good value for what we paid.

Room was very noisy as it was situated above the kitchen. Decor of our room was way below standard. And compared to other hotels that offer cruise parking the hotel is very very overpriced. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choices. They also require you to leave car key with them if you're going on a cruise. I did complain about noise and was only offered a small amount off the room price. If you book a room make sure it's not the one above the kitchen noise went on until 2300 listening to the wooshing of the dish washer.

Brilliant location with lovely staff (day and night). They have parking which is a bonus to anyone that's gone to a city. It's close to all Universities with good bus routes. The breakfast is delicious and very well cooked. The price was brilliant for 2 days here. We'll be coming again. Worth noting, if you're heading for the cruises, you can park here for a good price.

We had a wonderful stay. Right from the moment we walked through the door the staff were lovely and very helpful. Great location and breakfast and we loved sitting in the garden for a drink.
