I honestly don’t think words will ever fully explain what Abbington House has done for me. I came in terrified, broken physically and mentally, suffering badly with gastritis and ketamine cramps, scared of what recovery would even look like and convinced I’d never feel like myself again. I’ve been to rehab twice before, but I have never left somewhere feeling the way I do leaving Abbington. This place hasn’t just helped me stop using… it’s helped me find myself again. The staff here are beyond amazing. Every single person genuinely cares, and you can feel that from the minute you walk through the door. The therapy is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before… honest, deep, emotional, healing, but also full of understanding and compassion. The groups became a safe place for me to open up, laugh, cry and finally feel understood without judgement. What shocked me the most is how much joy exists in recovery here. The house is full of love, support and proper banter. We do karaoke, quizzes, group activities, and for the first time in years I’ve had real belly laughs… the kind where you forget the pain for a moment and just feel alive again. Bit by bit, this place gives you your confidence back. Abbington House didn’t just save my life physically, it gave me hope for a future I genuinely didn’t think I had anymore. I walked in scared and empty, and I’m leaving stronger, happier, healthier and surrounded by people I’ll never forget. If anyone out there is struggling and scared to ask for help please know recovery is possible, and places like this really do exist. Forever grateful 🤍

Words cannot describe the life changing, and indeed life saving experience I have had by coming in to Abbington House. My time here has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life that has taught me so much about myself and my addiction and given me the tools I need to life the rest of my life present for my family, positive, productive, curious again, ambitious again and most importantly happy. I am free of the torment my addiction was creating for me and I'm excited about the future instead of being scared, anxious, guilty and ashamed. The team at Abbington are just incredible people but a special shout out goes to Mikey, my therapist. He has been my rock throughout this journey and I wouldn't have been able to do it without his guidance and support and the love and support from my amazing wife. I'm lucky to have gone through this process with an awesome bunch of fellow residents who made everything a million times easier to face. We've all laughed, we've all cried, we've all bared our souls and it was worth every single second of it. I can't recommend Abbington House highly enough. It's a wonderful place offering the second chance any addict is desperate to be offered. The Twelve Step recovery programme works, and if you put the work in, you'll get all the benefit back. Thank you to everyone that has been there for me and helped me. I'll be back many times in the future but for all the right reasons instead of all the wrong reasons. If I'm able to I'll come back and post some photos once I've managed to track them down from fellow residents.

I have recently just completed a 28 day stay at Abbington House for alcohol and cocaine addiction. Hand on heart, I can honestly say it’s the best decision I have ever made in my life. Life before Abbington was a mess. I had literally hit rock bottom and had given up on life. I didn’t care who I hurt on the way down. To say I was selfish would be an understatement. All I cared about was the next drink or next line. I turned into someone my family and friends didn’t recognise. I didn’t even recognise the person staring back at me in the mirror. Abbington changed all that. They have given me my life back and for that I will be forever grateful. I now have the strength and the confidence to move forward and live my life to fullest. For the first time in years, I am actually excited at what the future holds. Words cannot describe how amazing every single member of staff are. They are all truly life savers. There is no judgement and their commitment to helping everyone who walks through that door goes above and beyond. The accommodation is great and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. I felt calm and safe from the moment I arrived. The program covers all areas needed to help you on your road to recovery. This includes the 12 steps, group therapy, one to one therapy, yoga, sound therapy plus weekly trips to the local gym, swimming pool and shops. I would also not have been able to do it without the support and care from my fellow residents. They were all a massive part of my journey and I have made friends for life. Also a special thank you to Chef Marion! The food is absolutely next level amazing and a massive part of the recovery program. I cannot recommend Abbington House highly enough. To anyone who is scared or struggling, pick up the phone and give them a call. It will be one of the most important phone calls you will ever make and I can promise you, one you will never regret. Eternally Grateful 🙏 Carrie x I

Honestly can’t put into words what Abbington House Rehab has done for me. I came in broken, lost and genuinely thought my life was heading one way… and I’m leaving feeling like I’ve actually got a future again. The staff are unreal, they genuinely care and they understand addiction on a level that makes you finally feel seen instead of judged. Every single member of staff made me feel comfortable from day one, especially when I was at my lowest and didn’t even want to be around people. The support, patience and effort they put into every person there is something I’ll never forget. They don’t just help you get sober, they help you find yourself again. The place itself is beautiful, calm and safe, but it’s the people inside it that make it special. I’ve laughed again, slept properly again, started believing in myself again and for the first time in a long time I actually want my life back. If you’re scared about going to rehab, trust me, take the step. Coming here was the best decision I’ve ever made. Forever grateful 🤍 — Alfie
