Holmewood Lakes - Mandarin Lodge

Yarm sits on the River Tees in Stockton-on-Tees, within reach of the water itself and countryside beyond. Holmewood Lakes offers a quieter alternative: Mandarin Lodge is a single-bedroom retreat on the grounds, built from cedar with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the water. Everything is on the ground floor. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and an ensuite shower; the living area combines a kitchen with a breakfast bar, gas hob and electric oven, with a smart TV above. A sitting room flows out to decking where the private hot tub sits, overlooking the lake—positioned for privacy while staying connected to the view.

Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. There is parking for two cars on site. The lodge suits couples or small groups wanting to be alone together; note that the grounds have an unfenced lake. Arrival is after 15:00, departure before 10:00. No smoking inside.

The wider area draws people who want to walk or cycle through open countryside. The jetty on the private stretch of the Tees is a short walk away; guests can launch their own kayaks or paddleboards, or simply fish or sit by the water.
