Things to do in The Orkney Isles, The Highlands

The Orkney Isles are an archipelago off the north coast of Scotland, comprising nearly 70 islands of which about 20 are inhabited. The islands have a long history of settlement, from prehistoric times through Norse rule to the present day, and this heritage is visible across the islands in archaeology, place names and local culture.
