This was a truely exceptional stay. From the beautiful views, relaxing and friendly staff, and the exceptional food with wine selection. Two night minimum is not an issue as you won't want to leave.

We keep on returning . . . and every time we know why. From the moment we come up the drive and over the humped-back bridge we have a warm welcome to a 'home from home'. It's a pleasure and a priviledge to stay, eat, drink and enjoy such warmth from all the staff and the other guests, every time! I've described the food as love on a plate. I've yet to find new words. It's just amazing and we leave nothing on our plates, but the washing up. The surprise, taste, presentation and true gift the chefs have to deliver every time has to be tried to be believed. The accommodation is spotless, thorough, and even home-made biscuits replaced every day in your room. We relax and watch the red squirrels and birds on the feeder, or walk in the grounds (there's even an adult swing hanging from a tree - it has to be done, and we're retired). Gary has an amazing presence, sense of humour, respectful - he's like your own butler - pours your wine - I asked about a bus timetable and next minute he handed me one . . . It's just a priviledge to be there - a moment in time. Last but not least - the environment is breathtaking with amazing walks and scenery. We leave the car and take the bus which stops at the bottom of the drive. We don't miss a thing on our travels then. Oh no . . . it's time to go home! Thank you team Gary

Everything about our stay at Hazelbank was perfect. The food, service, room and location were all exceptional. The key draw for us in choosing Hazelbank is that you are spoilt for choice for lovely walks right from the Country House’s doorstep. We got engaged at the hotel and Gary, Donna and the team made it extra special. We will definitely be back!

A very pleasant stay indeed. Gary & Donna (including the team and especially Emma) are welcoming and make time for everyone. Expect high standards and strong attention to detail - the house is immaculate and tastefully presented. Dining in is highly recommended and good value compared to elsewhere. The location for us was ideal: easy access to walks and hikes around Keswick, Buttermere and Newlands Valley. A lovely place to stay - you won’t be disappointed.
