The Drift House
Westmorland and Furness
The Drift House is a Grade II listed cottage dating to 1688, situated in Grasmere within Westmorland and Furness. Electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, and the kitchen is fully fitted with an oven, hob and microwave alongside a washing machine—everything needed to manage a self-catering stay for up to six people. The property has three bedrooms on the first floor (one king, two twins) and a family bathroom.
The living space centres on a character room with exposed timbers, comfortable seating and a TV. Storage heaters provide warmth throughout. Being a period property, it has the quirks and features that come with age and original detailing. There is space for storing muddy boots and wet coats after time outdoors. A pub lies within a mile, and Grasmere village with its shops and cafes is within walking distance. The location suits those exploring the Lake District fells, though note that smoking is not permitted.
