The Wheat Shed

A converted barn on a working farm, The Wheat Shed is a semi-detached property set within countryside roughly ten miles from Penrith. Four bedrooms sleep eight across a layout that puts the main living spaces on the ground floor: an open-plan kitchen and dining area, sitting room with Freeview TV and DVD player, plus a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite wet rooms with shower and toilet; the other two share a family bathroom with bath and toilet.

The ground floor ensuite is particularly accessible for anyone with mobility concerns. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are included. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher mean you can prepare meals without limitation. An eight-person hot tub sits in the private grounds, along with an enclosed garden, sitting-out furniture and a children's play area with zip wire. Parking on site accommodates four cars. No smoking inside the property.

The farm's own woodland and wildlife—swans, ducks, geese, woodpeckers, deer—sit alongside easy reach of Ullswater and the wider Lake District. Walking, water sports and exploring the local area are all on the doorstep.
