Lake Windermere laps at the edge of this waterfront property on Ambleside's southern edge. Floor-to-ceiling views of the water dominate the living spaces, and a balcony and shared jetty put you directly between the house and the lake itself. A storage area beneath the house keeps boats and equipment out of sight, while parking for two cars sits on the drive.

The layout spreads across two floors. Ground level holds a living and dining room with television, a kitchen fitted with electric cooking and a dishwasher, one double bedroom and a further two single rooms. Upstairs, the fourth bedroom contains a mix of single beds and a bunk, alongside a second bathroom. Three bathrooms in total means no queuing. Heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are all included; you need only bring yourselves and your belongings. One dog is welcome.

Ambleside is a walking hub with trails fanning out through the fells, and the visitor centre at Brockhole—a 30-acre estate with gardens and paths—sits a short distance away. Literary landmarks dot the region: Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount connect to Wordsworth, while Hill Top at Far Sawrey is Beatrix Potter's former home. Shops and a pub are within a mile. No smoking inside the property.
