The Mews

Couples and small families will find The Mews works well for a York break. It's a two-bedroom detached house sleeping four, set back from a quiet cobbled street through a small private courtyard. One bedroom has a king bed, the other a double, and there's a bathroom with bath and shower on the first floor. Downstairs, the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is where you'll spend most of your time—it's spacious enough not to feel cramped when everyone's in, and the French doors open onto your private parking space.

The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave and a washer-dryer, so you're not limited to eating out every night. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. There's a separate toilet and storage area on the ground floor. Both bedrooms have smart TVs with Netflix, and there's a Bluetooth speaker system in the living room if you want to play your own music. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.

The location puts you within walking distance of York's city centre—the Minster, the walls, independent shops and restaurants are all close by. No smoking indoors.
