About Travelodge York Hull Road
York's Hull Road runs out towards the A1079, giving easy access into the city centre and further afield across North Yorkshire, and it's here that Travelodge York Hull Road makes its home. With 40 rooms spread across two floors, it's a straightforward option for anyone wanting a base near the main routes without paying city-centre prices.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, comfortable beds and strong showers, plus drinks available in the room, and accessible rooms are available for those who need them. Some rooms show their age, but they're kept clean and offer a decent amount of space. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the 24-hour reception means arrival times aren't an issue. Free on-site parking is available at the rear, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and there's an electric vehicle charge point on site too. Pets are welcome.
A pub and bus routes into York city centre are both close by, along with nearby restaurants for those who'd rather not venture far. It's a practical choice for exploring York and the surrounding area without frills.

What guests say
We stayed here for 3 nights in May and found it to be a good budget option in a convenient location, only a 5–10 minute drive from the Shambles. We had a comfortable stay overall, and the reception staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. Parking on site was also very useful. The pub on site, The Black Bull, was excellent and clearly very popular. We had food there during our stay and it was very good. We would stay here again. The only issue we experienced was with the shower in Room 107. The water pressure was very weak, and the shower tray kept overflowing. Unfortunately, this was not resolved during our stay and, for safety reasons, it is something that should be looked into.

Rooms were clean. Had everything that we needed. Staff friendly and helpful. Located next to a pub for food and drinks. Close to park and ride for York city centre. Great location. Would recommend

Very basic but this reflects in price. No ironing board and iron in room but was given one to use kindly from staff when asked. The bed was so so comfortable and excellent bed linen. Shower was definitely a power shower. Bit disappointed about the lack of restaurant in the hotel and when asked about breakfast there was a deal for breakfast bags which had cornflakes pan au chocolat and breakfast bar in it. Plenty of parking and the staff particularly Nikolai were all extremely helpful. Signposting us to good restaurants with good food. Overall good stay.
